Seiko orange monster manual
That name stuck and the watch began to sell like crazy all over the world. One of the biggest assests of the Monster is its incredible luminosity. On the Monster, Seiko used two to three times the normal thickness of its LumiBrite glow-in-the-dark material to mark the hours on the dial.
LumiBrite was also used on the hands to create one of the brightess and most readable watches ever made for low light conditions or for use under water. Charge this watch up with an LED flashlight for 30 seconds and it will shock you in a dark room with how much it glows.
It is simply awesome. A domed crystal was used to minimize reflections under water, and the rugged looking bezel is slighty concave to offer some protection for the crystal. Seiko offset the crown to for inscreased comfort on the wrist and protected it with and unobtrusive crown guard.
The Seiko 7S26 automatic movement is one of Seiko's most popular and it has a long and venerable history with a reputation for ruggedness and reliability. It winds with the movement of your wrist. Now in , the original Monster is being retired and replaced with a revised version that is more expensive.

I was concerned about the weight of it on my wrist but I quickly got used to wearing it and have found it to be quite comfortable.
The watch is also very accurate. I love the orange dial and find that it seems to almost glow in dimmer light the dial not the luminous markers. The case and bezel of the watch are very nicely finished with a good balance between brushed and polished surfaces. The knurled crown looks great too.
I would highly recommend Island Watch to anyone looking to buy a watch. Great pricing and service. This guy actually responds to email.
Watches 2 arrived promptly. These orange monsters have to be the best watch value out there, what great heirlooms for my sons.
A great watch and excellent delivery and price from Long Island Watch. This movement, used in many Seiko entry-levels starting from the second half of the 90s, was affordable but robust, and characterized by the absence of manual winding and hacking. A characteristic feature of the first generation, which will subsequently be lost, are the seconds written alongside the indices on the dial. After the first models, Seiko presented Limited Editions in various colors, dedicated almost exclusively to the Asian market, and in particular to Thailand, a country where the Monsters apparently enjoyed great success.
As a movement we find the 7S36, which is very similar to the previous 7S26 but with the addition of two jewels. These brightly colored editions, produced in limited numbers, have become a cult object for some collectors, and are occasionally sold at auction at much higher prices than they were on retail even more than 10 times higher.
Stainless steel case 42mm, sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, 23 jewels, 41 hours of power reserve, 21, bph. In , Seiko introduced another series of first generation Monsters to Japan, featuring a black case and bracelet.
In the second generation of Seiko Monster enters the scene, introducing two main innovations: the caliber 4R36 with hacking and the possibility of manual winding, and new indexes that resemble long pointed teeth.
