She knows her dad. Sorry, Mr. Early, late-night predictions. When Sonny was taking those same kind of hits, Dick Butkus weighed and probably ran a 4. Now, you've got linebackers who weigh lbs running 4. And defensive ends who weigh It's not a badge of honor to have your QB get hit like that.

But the kid has got some talent. I just hope he stays alive long enough to reach his potential. But I still think pasting his deceased father's initials on his the Redskins' jerseys is a bit much. It's nice that he wants to honor his father, but this strikes me as the ultimate vanity plate. Just what was his father's contribution to the Redskins or the NFL to merit this honor? There was another grand old man who died not that long ago who spent the last 25 years of his life building the Redskins into what they are and who built that stadium they play in.

And Daniel Snyder did all he could to erase his memory from the Redskins' institutional memory. Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon: So you want to determine how he should honor his father? Suppose I don't like the way you honored your father. I mean, seriously, is this what you spend your time concentrating on?

This stuff actually crosses your mind? You must have incredible brain capacity to be bothered Considering which poll you look at. In fact, I think Oregon is going to win. So we won't be talking about the gap if that happens will we? Mike -- nice column today on Bruce Smith. He's been one of my favorites since his days at Virginia Tech. Also, an accurate observation on the state of the city of Atlanta when it comes to their professional sports.

A friend if mine recently moved down there a couple of years ago and he has the exact same opinion. Why doesn't Atlanta care about their professional sports teams? Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon: Thank you first of all for the compliment. I don't understand Atlanta. Although friends of mine in the media there remind me that it is probably the 3rd biggest transplant city in America after DC and LA.

And people don't care about the local teams. But, I think there is something else, particularly as it pertains to the natives. Sports are cultural. Americans don't care about pro-soccer, but to the Europeans, it's religious. In the South, they care about college football and auto racing and not a whole lot else, particularly Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana.

Atlantans don't even care about the Braves and they win all the time. You can walk up to the box office in October when the Braves are in a game 6 and plunk down your money and buy a ticket. It seemed that after his questionable loss to Felix Trinidad, his confidence and commitment was shaken.

Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon: No. He stands to make 80 to million dollars over the next 4 years, until he's He's not done. He's not going to retire.

I saw Springsteen. I had GREAT seats down on the field level, though I have to admit it was very hard to get to the seats and I'm a little old for the field level.

It was essentially the same show he put on in the MCI Center six months ago, which I saw and what is most amazing to me is the energy level and fitness level of this guy who is my age. I did not take Wilbon who doesn't know Springsteen. I took my children.

In your opinions, where does Jamal Lewis' record setting performance rank in terms of individual athletic achievement? Is it a just a big deal in football, or does it surpass football? Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon: They have been playing pro football for 80 years and nobody ever gained yds before. So, it's gotta rank pretty high. Had it happened in a playoff game or a Super Bowl people would say it was a Top 10 all time deal.

But it happened in Game 2. You could say 4 homeruns in one game is incredible, but 5 to 10 guys have done that. Nobody ever did this. Pretty good huh? Tony, I saw you at the Jimmy V Classic and my question is this, how often are you invited to attend similar events and how do you chose which you will attend?

Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon: I am invited regularly 15 to 20 times a year. So, we don't do it. This year though, Wilbon and I are hosting a tournament, next Tuesday actually you can still buy in and this tournament is specifically to benefit Don Graham's charitable efforts to send graduates of DC high schools to college and we are proud to do it.

I hope this doesn't mean we have to play in everyone else's tournament. Reston, Va. Do you think it would be damaging to the NFL and future players if this rule is successfully challenged?
