The creepiest place to visit was definitely the old refrigerator building that stands several miles down the dirt road leading towards the John Day river from the commune. It was very exciting to learn of this shocking history that took place only an hour or two from where I live, though I had never heard of it before.

Located conveniently in the Old Mill just minutes from the downtown area, the amphitheater hosts multiple live music concerts every month throughout the summer and beginning of fall. Some of these concerts are free, namely the series of free Sunday concerts that go through the summer. The other concerts, where musicians are invited to come play for pay, is where you will find the Cart.

Concerts at Les Schwab are almost always crazy. Often times these concerts target adults, and the food carts and beer tents are flooded the moment the gates open. Though several musicians who I really like have come through Les Schwab, including Ringo Starr, it is hard to listen to the music because of the sheer length of the lines we get. Serving Bendites is nearly always a pleasure, though they tend to get a tad bit impatient. Luckily, when the lines get long, we can just hand people a number and tell them to go enjoy a few songs before coming back to get their pizza.

Everybody still gets to listen to the awesome music, and everybody still gets some awesome pizza. Bumbershoot was a ride from start to finish.

By far the largest event the Cart has ever done in terms of reputation , Bumbershoot forced us to be a bit more creative than normal.

We had a crew of 10 people and actually brought up both of the pizza ovens. The lineup at this concert was insane. There were also comedy, science, and social talks, my favorite being the talk with Bill Nye about asteroids that I attended with my boss.

People watching at this event was not as exciting as I hoped it to be. I would attribute this to the large variety of audience that were attracted to this event, because of the different performers, speakers, and comedians who were present. Depending on the time of day, we would see surges of young hipsters, middle aged Dead-heads, and professionals who were there to see one or two specific artists.

Once you bought a ticket into the venue, you had access to all of the musicians, speakers, comedians, food and more than was taking place.

Therefore, it was easy for people to simply buy a ticket then show up only when their favorite artists etc were on stage. The weather was good, surprising us with rain only on the morning of the first day. It was clean, well organized and generally a fun event to work at. Central Oregon is home to a surprising number of Bluegrass concerts and festivals.

Though it is not my favorite genre of music, Bluegrass concerts are my favorite genre to serve pizza at. The people are always so laid back and friendly, there is always good beer, and I constantly find my foot tapping to some rhythm.

Four Peaks is a rather small scale music festival that takes place in Tumalo early in the summer. It lasts for several days on a private farm just off of Tumalo Reservoir Road, but attracts hundreds of people. Though it is only half an hour from home, most of the crew decided to stay and camp. One of the workers stayed up until well past 2am serving pizza to the drunk, hungry stragglers.

The view was phenomenal, though since it was on normal farmland, it got pretty dusty whenever a car would drive through the camp sites. Fortunately most of the campers were permanently parked after the first day. There were plenty of people staying in VW vans, hammocks, and of course, tents. Already in its second decade, it features international psychadelic-mystic music artists, handmade utilikilts, countless meads, and all the costumes you could ever wish for.

In this festival, where normal rules and authority do not seem to apply, there was one precept that seemed to be accepted by all: At Faerieworlds, you are not dressing up as a faerie.

You are a faerie, and everybody else around you accepts that as fact. There were countless mythical creatures, fire dancers, naked people in rivers, and drugs. It was really a great time, no matter what you chose to participate in. Here's what it is: A team competition in which each of the 7 members works as a whole team and in smaller groups to conquer physical challenges. The challenges include swimming, cycling, running, geocaching, ropes courses, and a zipline; and the "down time" includes eating, laughing, and hanging out with other cool people!

And here's why you should enter the sweepstakes for a chance to win a team entry: So you can compete against my team from OregonLive. Disclaimer: this in no way means that I think you will have any trouble beating us. We are not the most skilled group of athletes, but we're going to have fun anyway! Nike World Headquarters.
